“If you have no time for wellness, illness will visit your life,” an old saying once said. Anyone who does not have enough time to care for his health in a broader sense, one day is sure to be visited by dangerous things in life. From physical illness to mental illness. From a dangerous family to a dangerous old age. For this reason, no matter how stable your life is, from the beginning always allocate time to care for health, happiness and peace. Mainly because there are so many things in life that are uncertain.
Pay attention to the word illness (a life that feels lacking) and the word wellness (a life that is complete). The word illness starts with the letter “I”, while the word wellness starts with the letter we. The message is simple, if you want to transform from a life of lack (illness) to a life that is well-off (wellness), train yourself to grow from a narrow type of happiness that only focus on making yourself happy, to a wider type of happiness that involves other people and other creatures in it.
Talking about it is easy, but to do it is very hard. Because transforming from I to we is full of obstacles and trials. The first material for reflection, prolonged over-illness is an honest input that a person grows far from his natural calling. No matter how strong a frangipani tree is, it will rot if planted in a wet pond. No matter how good a lotus seed is, it will die if planted in dry soil. Thus, if you want your soul to grow far ahead, rest assured that you grow not too far from your own natural calling. And this natural calling is often hidden in childhood. From childhood dreams, toys, memorable places, to people who touches your heart during your childhood.
Just as an example, a friend told me that the only game he never lost in childhood was playing kites. Later on this game revealed that he was entrusted with a holy message from heaven. The essence of the holy message is simple, if the human soul wants to fly lightly, learn to always be balanced. The second obstacle that should be examined is emotion. Emotion in English is formed from the words e (energy) and motion (movement). That is, emotions are a series of energy movements. No matter how deep a person’s meditation is, there will still be energy movement within. It becomes a hindrance when someone is afraid and clinging. In order for healthy friends to survive, it is important to reflect on that fear is the fruit of memory about pain. Whereas attachment is the fruit of memory about pleasant things.
The more painful someone’s past, the greater the fear that will arise. The more pleasurable one’s experiences in the past, the greater the attachment. This obstacle needed to be overcome, if one’s want to grow above fear and attachment. In the language of meditation, sit in the middle as a witness who smiles beautifully. Both are just memories. And memories are only in the mind. The third obstacle to be watch out for is hope. If expectations are higher than reality, the result is disappointment. When expectations are too low compared to reality, the results deteriorate. In order for transformation to occur, train yourself to grow in balance between expectations and reality.
In order to grow from illness to wellness, learn to use the word “I” less, train yourself to use the word “we” more. In psycholinguistic language: “The words that you speak is the home that you live”. Words that are spoken for a long time period, if used continuously can make a person experience life as they are often spoken. More than that, words are not the only message that goes out. Words are also captured by the brain inside. Different words produce different chemical responses from the body.
Words which is full of fear and panic causes the brain to produce stress hormones like cortisol which can harm the body. Happy words make the brain produce growth hormones such as dopamine, oxytocin and serotonin. Which really helps the healing process and makes the body peaceful. The same thing with the use of the word “I” and the word “we”. The word “I” makes the brain create a barrier to other people. The word “We” make the brain build bridges for other people. The second step, learn to create not based on desire (manifesting what you want), but to create based on who you really are (manifesting who you are).
If desire makes a person becomes a stranger in one’s own body, then gives birth to various kinds of diseases. Creating on the basis of who you really are takes the soul back home. The stress is much less, at the same time the seeds of a sense of well-being are starting to grow healthy inside. The signs are, all kind of food looks delicious, sleep becomes more soundly. Each prayer contains many words of thankfulness. There are many things to be grateful for at all times. The third step towards wellness is to develop inner gratitude. Open your eyes in the morning with deep gratitude. Be thankful because we are still healthy and safe, have a useful and meaningful life, and have a happy healthy family.
In the world, angels are often heard, angels will sing beautifully if they see humans who wake up in the morning accompanied by deep gratitude. More deeply than that, deep gratitude is the crucial key to opening the door to miracles. In medicine, miracles are often called the placebo effect. A person heals because of his/her faith. In the world of psychology, magic is often identified with the subconscious. Which determines nearly 95% of the face of life. In the profound spiritual world, miracles are often referred to as the emergence of a secret Guru. Whatever the name and face, deep gratitude will go a long way in creating a life filled with a sense of wellness. On this road, there is often a beautiful message like this: “You can’t control everything, but you can align yourself with everything.” Humans cannot control everything, but humans can harmonize themselves with everything. And the spirit behind the word “we” plays a big role in making humans in tune with all of them.
