EP #1053: Integral Travel- Promote Health & Well-Being Through Physical, Psychological, and Spiritual Activities with Jessica Van Antwerp, LMT, CPS
Lisa is joined by Jessica Van Antwerp, LMT, CPS the Owner of Integral Travel. Jessica is also a Retreat Leader.
The word “unflappable” has been used to describe Jessica by more than one person. But she would absolutely not describe herself that way. Prone to anxiety, self-doubt was programmed into her psyche from a very young age.
That anxiety was compounded by weight and body-image issues and low self-esteem, which led her to addiction.
She’s done a lot of work to conquer these issues. She changed her diet and developed an exercise routine that helps her maintain a healthy body weight without it having to be a part-time job. She devoted herself to a daily practice of qigong and meditation that helps ease the worries in her heart and mind. She uses these practices on a daily basis to quell her anxiety. And based on the above perception of her, they must work!
Jessica absolutely loves sharing the knowledge and wisdom she’s developed through her ordeals. Becoming a member of the Integral Travel team has given her the opportunity to take people out of their daily routines to expose them to new ways of being and seeing things, affecting personal growth and empowerment in their own wellbeing. And there is nothing more fulfilling to her than that.
From teaching stretches that address pain patterns, meditation techniques to find peace in one’s heart, to sharing delicious, nutritious recipes, she loves being healthy – physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. Because when we are healthy, we feel good. And when we feel good, we become beacons of light, inspiring everyone we come into contact with, making the world a better place. And we all know the world needs more of us.

EP #1051: Non-Toxic Living for Crunchy Wannabe Moms with Megan Mikkelsen, MPH
Lisa is joined by Megan Mikkelsen, MPH who talks all about non-toxic living. Lisa is surprised to find out that some of the products that she thought were toxin free, were actually "Green washed." Yikes! Listen and learn how to truly detox your home.
From Megan's website: https://www.detox.design
Health and the environment have been my top interest since I was a teen. I went on to get my Masters of Public Health and having my first daughter led me to environmental health. I wanted to create a healthy and happy home for her. Raising my daughters in an environment with minimal toxins - that’s the crux of my “why”. I know deciphering the confusing marketplace of cleaners and everyday products isn’t always easy, but I’m here to help.
My journey to a toxin-free home started with wanting to make the best choices for my family but also feeling overwhelmed and confused, and lacking the time to make detoxing our home a priority. Did you know packaging contains misleading messages? It’s true! I’ve immersed myself in product knowledge and safe ingredients, so you don’t have to.
Today, there are toxins in the environment all around us. We do however have some control over what we choose to bring into our homes and put on our bodies. Hang out with me for awhile and together we’ll identify and remove the nasty products from your home leaving you with safer options and the knowledge you need to make toxin-free choices each time you shop, while saving money

EP #1050: Plant-Based Living with Olivier Mankondo NS
Lisa is joined by Olivier Mankondo, a keynote speaker who has been on a plant-based diet since 2016. He was able to cure himself of high blood pressure, severe headaches, chest pains, painful joints, back pain, abscesses and dandruff without the use of any medication.
Before adopting to a plant-based nutrition and the newfound knowledge, Olivier Mankondo weighted 100 kilos (15½ stone) and subsequently lost 35 kilos (5½ stone) in nine months without surgery or physical exercises (gyms, boot camps, etc.).
After the change in his diet and lifestyle, Olivier’s health has been optimal, and he has never been sick ever since. He shared his knowledge and experience about a plant-based nutrition with his wife and brother, and they too had witnessed dramatic transformations in their health. Both of them have been able to reverse their chronic diseases and are now in perfect health.
After witnessing significant transformations due to the adoption of a plant-based nutrition, Olivier decided to share this powerful message with the world and empower people with this knowledge.
He has helped and continue to help a lot of people through his message to adopt a healthy lifestyle so they can lose their excess weight, prevent, stop, and even reverse their chronic diseases.

PE #1048: Understanding Intensive Care and How You Can Support Your Loved One
PE #1048: Understanding Intensive Care and How You Can Support Your Loved One
Lisa is joined by Lara Goiten, MD a Harvard trained physician specializing in intensive care and lung medicine to talk about her book, The ICU Guide for Families: Understanding Intensive Care and How You Can Support Your Loved One.
Somewhere between her residency in Boston and her fellowship in Seattle, she fell in love with the desert southwest and took a hard detour to work as a river guide in the Grand Canyon. She now lives in Santa Fe, New Mexico with her husband and two sons. There, she founded a clinician-directed quality improvement program at the Santa Fe hospital, and served as President-Elect of the Medical Staff. Her professional interests include quality improvement in healthcare, end-of-life care, the training of new doctors, physician burnout, and improving communication with patients and families. She is an editorial board member and frequent writer for the medical journal JAMA Internal Medicine, and also writes in the lay press, including the New York Review of Books. As much as possible, she spends time with her family hiking, camping, and river rafting in her stunning backyard.
Book description:
CU events are not uncommon but knowing what to do when a loved one is placed there is. This work explores the ICU with an eye toward guiding families to getting the best care for their beloved patient
Intensive care will touch almost all of us at some point – whether directly, or through our families and or friends. This book is for every family of patients in the ICU, who have suddenly entered an intimidating and alien world, in which they feel powerless and out of control. In simple, direct language, Lara Goitein, MD, gives clear explanations of all aspects of intensive care – what all those lines and tubes are; common conditions such as sepsis and acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS); physical changes in patients and what they mean; common procedures and their risks and benefits; and the people and the culture of the ICU. One full section of the book is devoted to Covid-19-specific issues.
In addition, the book provides concrete advice for how family members can be effective advocates on behalf of their loved ones –what to know before giving consent for procedures, how to interact with ICU staff, how to help the ICU team guard against common complications of ICU care, and how to approach important decisions about end-of-life care. Along the way, the author gently reminds of us of what, in the end, matters most in the ICU.
For readers who may be distracted and exhausted, this is a clear, accessible guide with concrete recommendations for getting the best care and asking the right questions along the way. A compassionate resource in a time of extreme stress, this book offers support to anyone touched by an ICU stay.

EP #1047: What's Ahead in 2022 with Shaman
EP #1047: What's Ahead in 2022 with Shaman
Lisa and Andrea are joined by Shaman who talks about things that are on the horizon for 2022.
From www.lifepurposeshaman.com
One of the questions that I’m asked all around the world is,
“How did you become a shaman?”
My purpose has always been the same throughout my many lifetimes on Earth. I have been around for thousands of years and remember my past lives and the gifts of using the elements around us.
Through my 30 plus years of healing during this lifetime, I have discovered that those who fail in receiving healing are those who lack belief in the healing itself.
I have been blessed to have had spiritual leaders from around the world as mentors.
I received mentoring from Pope John Paul II, Mother Teresa, and the Dalai Lama. During the time I spent with them, I was shown that I was a teacher of teachers. As a young girl I talked to God, Angels, and people who have passed away every day. This was normal for me. Because of this undeniable gift, the spiritual leaders considered me to be more of a prophet than a shaman. In my childhood I received mentoring around the world. I was taken in by holy people of all different backgrounds and faiths. Such as a powerful Hopi Indian Shaman named Lewis, Father Phillip in Vatican City, the Visionaries of Medjugorje, and even the queen of the Himba Tribe in Namibia. It brought joy to my soul that all these gifted teachers wanted to connect with me in this lifetime on Earth.
